the holographic principleAlways busy and always working, Epica have been an iconic band for symphonic metal. Whether it be the band’s technicality or the individual musicianship of each of its members, the band has no doubt proven themselves to be worthy of their spotlight.

Mentioned a few days in an interview, the band revealed via Facebook today some information regarding their new album, The Holographic Principle.

“Here it is, the news you’ve all been waiting for! We’re proud to present you the cover artwork of our upcoming album ‘The Holographic Principle’

Our 7th studio album will be released on September 30th 2016 via Nuclear Blast Records. Produced by Joost van den Broek, mixed by Jacob Hansen, artwork by Stefan Heilemann, we gathered a great team around us to create what we see as the ultimate Epica experience.

‘The Holographic Principle’ is a true treasure we worked on very hard over the past year. This album contains more Epica than ever before. We are all very proud of the result and can’t wait for you to hear it! Come join us on our new musical journey from September 30th on.

To celebrate the release the of ‘The Holographic Principle’, we will be playing at our own EPIC METAL FEST Netherlands at 013 in Tilburg, NL on Saturday October 1st, and at the 1st edition of EPIC METAL FEST Brazil at Audio in São Paulo on Saturday October 15th.

Epica’s previous album, The Quantum Enigma, was critically well received by both fans and press alike. Members of the band have been tweeting about writing a new album for some months now, but just a few months away now it will all come to fruition. Expect a single release in the near future.
