AgallochAgalloch took to Facebook today to announce that the band has broken up. The blackend/folk/doom/dark/whatever you may call it metal act had been critically well received throughout their career, shocking many with this announcement.

The announcement is as reads:

Following 20 years, 5 full length albums, many tours around the world, and numerous  other recordings, John Haughm and the rest of the band (Don Anderson, Jason Walton, and Aesop Dekker) have parted ways. What the future holds for the separate parties remains undetermined. We collectively thank all of our fans across the world. There are also way too many other people to thank who made this band possible. You know who you are.”

Recently, vocalist John Haughm teased a solo album, The Last Place I Remember. Agalloch’s final release, The Serpent & the Sphere, was released in 2014 on Profound Lore records to high praise. The band achieved a larger amount of attention with their 2002’s The Mantle, often considered a modern-class by many metal sources.
