In typical fashion, Dark Tranquillity have announced a robust end of year tour for North America. No stranger to announcing events far in advance, the band has taken it upon themselves to announce their next set of dates in North America nearly nine months in advance. From November into December, the band will be bringing along melo-doom outfit Swallow the Sun, traditional speed metal act Enforcer, and modern melo-death Chicago natives Starkill for what should be an incredibly amazing show no matter how you spin it.

Based on the opening lines of the release, it’s safe to assume we’ll be hearing new Dark Tranquillity this year. The band’s previous album, Construct, was released in 2013 to positive reviews all around for experimenting in effective ways with their already melancholic sound.
Swallow the Sun will be coming to America for the first time while supporting Songs From the North, a sprawling triple album that covers their standard melo-doom sound, a more cold and chilling acoustic disc, and a vacuous descent into funeral doom on the third.
Enforcer have recently wrapped up and extensive North American tour in the States, having released the Fenriz from Darkthrone-approved From Beyond in 2015.
Starkill are slated to released a new album this year, having met positive reception for Virus of the Mind in 2014.
