» Blog Archive Dead Cross, feat. Slayer Drummer, Debut Song -
Evan Conway Hard Music, News

Ever since separating with Slayer, Dave Lombardo has been keeping himself busy with new projects and pre-existing ones. Dead Cross is the next project in line for him, and the result will surely appease anyone in favor of the more extreme side of music.

Dead CrossDead Cross, the crust punk project started out by ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, The Locust bassist Justin Pearson, Retox guitarist Mike Crain, and vocalist Gave Serbian, have unveiled their debut recorded track. Via Rolling Stone, the band has made their song, “We’ll Sleep When They’re Dead” available for streaming on Soundcloud.

After Lombardo’s band Philm fell apart, the studio time he had booked for the band last year resulted in what is now Dead Cross. Produced by Ross Robinson, the track is a savage display of aggression, and not too far off the spectrum for Lombardo’s fans. Notably, it is nastier than his work in Slayer.

The band currently has two shows scheduled, April 9th at the Rickshaw Theater in British Columbia and May 9th at the Troubadour in Hollywood, California. No word yet on when the album will be released or if it will have a label attached, but judging by Facebook posts, the album is nearing completion on the production end. Expect a signing sometime soon, possibly,to go with the album’s pending announcement.
