No, the honor is bestowed upon many of the Black Noise bands coming out, and those that have been around for a minute. Using sounds that seal the listener away, helplessly, into a cocoon of strange sounds, hisses, modulated feedback, and anguished vocal attacks, BN pushes an envelope that can cause supreme anxiety into the listener. One such album, to drop from a sea of writhing sounds, is A Means By Which To Break The Surface Of The Real by Theologian. Grave Pleasures, from Finland, have officially released their debut album “Dreamcrash” via Metal Blade Records in the US, and Sony Columbia worldwide. Formed out of the debris of the band Beastmilk – the band that had indie fans, goths, punks and the music press dancing to their highly praised debut album “Climax” in 2013 – Grave Pleasures are taking the concept of the apocalypse one step further.

Swedish death metal unit, AEON, will begin their march through North America this evening on the Devastation On The Nation Tour featuring headliners Origin and Krisiun. Set to embark in Crest Hill, Illinois, the Metal Injection-sponsored live takeover will decimate nearly three-dozen venues through October 5th. Additional support will be provided by Alterbeast, Soreption and Ingested.

Texas-based DEAD TO A DYING WORLD has completed their immense sophomore album, Litany, and plans to release the record this October alongside a Western US tour.
