Runtime: about 26 minutes

Having been around since 2008, and going through a few different lyrical content phases, Immortal Guardian has been shredding faces in the south and beyond for a minute. Playing what they dub “Super Metal”, it’s a very solid, very technically proficient Power Metal. THe album starts on a sweet note, with a huge bass line, group vocals, and then just rips with some fret runs that simply sing to the angels (Beyond the Skies). THe album is very well produced and mixed, and true to style, there are no low or slow points on the 5 song album. Its absolutely beautiful, with touches of piano and a very natural flow through the songs. There are no hard changes to the chorus from the verse, no weird transitions that kind of interrupt the epic playing; it’s smooth, it rocks, and I absolutely wish I could do power vocals!

As said before, the playing is exactly what you expect: clean, high gain, melting face speeds, and sounds like more than 4 fingers per hand. It’s basically what all guitarists aspire to, until they figure out what they have to practice… Coupled with their vocalist, who nails those highs, it’s a fist pumping good time. Bonus: on the track Immortal, the guest vocals sound a lot like Mr. Lordi from Lordi!
