SHINEDOWN ANNOUNCES SUMMER TOUR

Atlantic recording artist Shinedown has announced plans for a very special summer tour, the multi-platinum certified rock band’s first major trek in more than two years. The dates will see Shinedown visiting theatres and other intimate venues across the country, performing a unique set that will include classic hits, deep cuts, and best of all, new songs from the band’s hugely anticipated fifth studio album.

The tour gets underway July 9^th with the first announced date taking place at Tulsa, OK’s Brady Theater on July 14th, and then continues into August, with additional dates to be announced soon (see attached itinerary). “We have a lot in store for 2015 and beyond. We have been working on our fifth album for the better part of two years, and it is almost complete. That being said, we felt it was time to return to the road to let everyone know that we are 100% back and ready to entertain!” says Shinedown’s Brent Smith.

Meanwhile, Shinedown is currently hard at work in a Los Angeles studio putting finishing touches on the eagerly awaited follow-up to 2012’s RIAA gold certified “AMARYLLIS.” The as-yet-untitled new album will arrive later this year. Known worldwide for their unparalleled streak of hits, Shinedown is without question one of the most successful rock bands of the 21^st century. The band’s unmatched ascendancy over multi-format rock radio commenced with their 2003 debut “LEAVE A WHISPER” and the 2005 follow-up, “US AND THEM.” Together, both albums yielded seven consecutive top 5 radio hits, including the #1 blockbuster, “Save Me.”

Released in 2008, “THE SOUND OF MADNESS” proved to be Shinedown’s mainstream breakthrough, debuting at #8 on the Billboard 200 before spending 120 consecutive weeks on the chart. The album made rock history, with each of its six singles reaching #1 on the airplay rankings, including the double-platinum certified crossover smash, “Second Chance,” which also went to #1 on the Hot AC chart and top 3 at Top 40.

“AMARYLLIS” followed in 2012 and immediately entered Billboard’s “Rock Albums” chart at #1 while also coming in at #4 on the overall Billboard 200 with over 105,000 units sold in the first week – the multi-platinum group’s biggest chart debut thus far. The album spawned a trio of massive hits in “Bully,” “Unity,” and “Enemies,” all of which reached #1 at Active Rock radio, bringing Shinedown’s tally of consecutive chart-toppers at the format to an amazing nine and counting. In addition, two additional singles from “AMARYLLIS” – “I’ll Follow You” and “Adrenaline” – both reached the top 5 at Rock radio, furthering a record-setting streak in which every one of Shinedown’s eighteen singles over their decade-plus career has ascended to the upper regions of the radio charts – a feat that no other rock band has achieved.

Hailed by fans as an explosive and exciting live act, Shinedown have toured hard throughout their career, including countless headline treks and high profile festival appearances. In addition, the band’s numerous national television appearances include performances on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and TODAY, CBS’ The Early Show, and TBS’ Conan, among others. In 2009, Shinedown received an American Music Award nomination for “Best Alternative Rock Band.”
