» Blog Archive Breaking Manga News: Naruto to End in November -
Kazan Jay Anime, Comic Book News

It’s been a long time coming, but believe it readers; worldwide manga smash Naruto is rapping its run in 5 weeks. Weekly Shonen Jump announced via its website that Naruto’s final chapter is running in the November 10th issue, and no announcement has been made by VIZ over here in the states. But with the US volume releases being understandably behind Japan, and the digital chapters being slightly behind as well, an announcement should be coming sooner rather than later.

Naruto was one of the series that helped push manga localization into the level it is today, capturing the attention of comics fans alongside fellow WSJ titles One Piece and Dragon Ball Z when Shonen Jump was launched in the US back in late 2002. Manga went from niche to . . . less niche with the help of AAA titles like Naruto, so it’s gonna be bittersweet to see him go. But this ending will be a hard earned victory for manga fans, it’s been almost 12 years now since the first chapter of Naruto landed in the US and it’s about time we send off the tale of the gutsy ninja. Cheers, Kishimoto!
