Well, it’s come down to this…with 2 episodes left, the big gorilla in the room is will Disney renew Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? The latest ratings would indicate that no, it doesn’t warrant a renewal with the dismal ratings posted week to week. But looking deeper into the ratings, one thing might save the show. That is the 18-49 demo numbers. The overall number for Agents is a measly 5.95 million viewers for the week ending April 29th. In comparison, NCIS, airing against Agents posted 17.25 million viewers. You would think…well, case closed. But the more desired number these days is the 18-49 demo, and in that department, Agents does much better.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. not living up to Marvel’s Movie-verse

Again using both shows as a comparison…Agents pulled in a 2.1 demo and NCIS a 2.5. As a mater of fact, Agents came in second place for the whole night of Tuesday in the 18-49 demo, beaten only by The Voice. In scripted programming, it was #1. Agents is trying to right the ship after a slow start. Introducing more Marvel characters and tying up the loose ends of the Clairvoyant story line. Will it be too late? Being that Disney owns the show and the network it airs on (that’s a story for another day), there is a good chance Agents will be renewed for a second season, but the show producers better get it together cause Disney’s generosity will only go so far.
