Tuesday, months since the initial hearing and arraignment, as well as a prior claim of Not Guilty, Tim Lambesis (frontman to As I Lay Dying) has plead guilty to attempting to hire a hitman to kill his wife of 8 years. The family has 3 adopted children and were in the process of finalizing a divorce.
Lambesis approached his personal trainer during a session and said he “wanted to know if maybe I could find someone to do it for him”, spoke Brett Kimball, the personal trainer at the gym Lambesis went to. Kimball then went to police with the information, and they set up a sting operation with an undercover agent code-named “Red”. He contacted Lambesis and a meeting date and time was set for them to come to an agreement on details for the hit.
Court documents state that Mr. Lambesis approached “Red” with a very serious proposal to “take care of his wife”, because, he (Lambesis) feared, she would take half his money in a messy divorce, refused to let the children they had adopted go on the tours with him, and that she was prolonging the finalization of the paperwork to end the marriage. He was then asked if he wanted her killed by the agent, to which he replied “Yes, that’s exactly what I want.” He then provided the agent with $1,000 for expenses to have the initial killing done, pictures of Meggan, a code to get into their house and, to create an alibi, dates he would be looking after their children. After proof was given that he had done the deed, $20,000 would be provided as the complete fee for the “hit”.
Up to this point, Tim Lambesis had been free on a $2 million bail.

Honestly, this is horrible for this family. As a fan, I wanted this to be true, that he was innocent. I can’t imagine what this family is going through, to find out your husband/adoptive father wanted your mother dead. My heart and prayers go out to all involved, that this gets resolved in the best manner for both parties.
