» Blog Archive Stan Lee Confirms Rumors at Wizard World -
Amanda Harvey Comic Book News, News

This weekend many nerd boys and nerd girls all around the tristate area engaged in their guilty pleasures at Wizard World in New York City. There were many notable speakers present including the all knowing grandfather of the comic world, Stan Lee. A couple of questions and rumors were thrown around to him and some interesting insight was given leading into Marvel’s phase 3 of films. In regards to the rumors that a Black Panther film may or may not be in the works Lee stated, “The people at Marvel are spending hours trying to think ‘What’ll we do next?’ And there’s a damn good chance that they will think just what you mentioned because it would be a great idea, and little by little, everything you want to see will come along because they’re just like you. They’re fans of the stories and are trying to think, ‘What will the fans like to see next? What would we like to see next?’ So they’re working on Ant-Man, working on Doctor Strange; they’re working on Guardians of the Galaxy; they’re working on God knows what. Did I say the Black Panther also? They’re the ones I know about.” This is extremely interesting information. It is understood that Stan Lee is constantly stated to be an executive producers on many of these film, yet the title is merely there out of honor and not so much for consultation. There is a lot of speculation about his careless mention of Black Panther running next to already confirmed titles because whether Lee has insider information or not, he wouldn’t have stated such news without solid backing. Could this news potentially tie in with Marvels want to meet with Vin Diesel? No one really knows, however, things are about to get very interesting. I would go as far as to think that no stone could be left unturned in this new phase of Marvels movie making.
