Bale has announced that he will not be playing the masked vigilante that he has made a name for in the Justice League film. He made it blatantly clear to Entertainment Weekly that “[he has] no information, no knowledge about anything. I’ve literally not had a conversation with a living soul. I understand that they may be making a Justice League movie, that’s it.”This statement makes it more than clear that Bale has already been in talks of the role and decided to go his separate ways than the role of the dark knight. He goes on to say, We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three [Batman films]. That’s enough. Let’s not get greedy. It’s a torch that should be handed from one actor to another. So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with.” Even though i am fully and whole heartedly against recasting different actor as the same role, I can honestly say that I am not sad to see Bale go. I don’t blame him for his portrayal, I’m more peeved and agitated at the concept behind him. Especially in the most recent film The Dark Knight Rises. On top of his ridiculous voice and lack of dedication is realizing Bruce Waynes back story, I felt his absence in the last film was unnecessary and definitely hurt the film. There has been rumors of Joeseph Gordon Levitt playing the role. I think this would just be a cluster fuck of character placement that will not go over well with fans, however, I can say I honestly wouldn’t mine JGL as the bat. The kid is a great actor and clearly can grasp poor direction and run with it. We’ll see what is in store for announcements of this film. I’m more concerned with who is going to be playing Wonder Woman considering the stigma that has followed her on screen appearances. There’s some pretty solid ideas for who might be playing her and the speculation continues.
