Shadow Kingdom Records debut’s The Vein’s first album Scouring the Wreckage of Time. Between creating other metal albums, the two Altar of Oblivion members formed the Vein. They are a Death/Doom Metal twist to their previous project Altar of Oblivion, and have done different takes on albums like last year’s Grand Gesture of Defiance. Although these bands are very similar The Vein offers something much darker and heavier. Their style is very relatable to classic 80’s and 90’s death metal. This is a double EP feature being released which is a unique and rare find.

Chapter I: The Poisoned Chalice

Chapter II: Born into Grey Domains

The Vein was founded in early 2010 when long time friends Martin Meyer Mendelssohn Sparvath and JBP talked about forming a new band, in which they wanted to pursue their common desire to wander other musical endeavors. After having discussed and exchanged different ideas regarding the direction and style of the band, Martin began composing and quickly came up with two tracks for an EP which was later accomplished to be “Born into grey Domains”. To complete the band, Martin and Jens asked bass player C. Nörgaard and drummer Thomas Wesley to join the ranks of The Vein which they kindly accepted.
