In a recent interview Star Trek star Zoe Saldana revealed that she has been cast to play Gamora in Marvels new Guardians of the Galaxy film. How will Marvel bring the picturesque alien assassin, the lone of her race, from comic book pages to the screen? What tactic will be employed? Will it be CGI? Motion Capture? None of the above, Marvel is using merely makeup.
Considering that this wacky lineup of characters includes a talking raccoon and a living, walking, talking tree it should come as no surprise that we instantly turned to CGI for character development. However it’s nice to know that there will actually be actors on screen. Along side of Saldana will be Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista in the form of real life human beings. Director James Gunn is no stranger to creating real life style effects and we couldn’t appreciate it more. This is going to be a new installment in the Marvel 2 series of films. At the end of the Avengers when Thanos was shown post credits it led a whirlwind of speculations as to how Marvel was going to incorporate the space universe into the universe they had created already. Guardians of the Galaxy is the answer to those speculations. Guardians of the Galaxy begins filming soon and is set to release August 1st, 2014.
