As the super villain Thanos is being prepped as the next big baddie of the future installment of The Avengers film, has the house of ideas ruined any chance of DC comics ever bringing Darkseid to the silver screen? There is a history between both characters from their inception. Thanos creator Jim Starlin has mentioned in the past that his inspiration for the “Mad Titan” came from the creation of Jack Kirby’s Darkseid! With word coming this week that WB has a renewed interest in gearing up a Justice League movie (I guess the boys at WB went to see the Avengers movie at a theater near them) all sights fall on who the major villain might be in such a film? One guy who can tackle the whole league would be Darkseid. But there in lies the problem. With Marvel already hinting the coming of Thanos in the up coming Avengers sequel in 2014, the similarities in both characters might be utterly confusing to the non fanboy/fangirl of comic books. So what is DC/WB to do? Well, I guess they should worry about first trying to green light a JLA movie in the first place and then take it from there. Lord knows they have a long road ahead to even remotely catch Marvel Entertainment on the movie front.
