With all the excitement surrounding The Avengers movie, and the after credit scene involving one Thanos…the supposed monster villain of the Marvel Universe, it’s suffice to say that “The Mad Titan” will be the next bad guy in Avengers 2. With all this hoopla, over on Ebay, the very popular Infinity Gauntlet comic book mini series has become even more popular. Obviously what’s driving the excitement is the appearance of Thanos in the film. Iron Man #55, Thanos’s first apperance is also red hot, with copies going for as much as $500.00. That book always sold as a premium, but never for that much. Other books hitting their high marks are The Infinity War and The Infinity Crusade…parts 2 and 3 of the Infinity Saga. Books shooting up in value isn’t a new thing, as The Secret Wars sky rocketed when Spiderman 3 opened. (Secret Wars #8 is the first appearance of he black costume that would become “Venom”) Another series of books going through their high right now is Batman’s “Knightfall”, the 19 book series that had Bane break Batman’s back. With the appearance of Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises” this July, Knightfall has seen it’s share of high market value on Ebay as well. Only time will tell if these books will hold some of their value through all these movie premieres.
