So unless you have been hiding under a rock, the shocking and sad/terrible shooting of a young man in Sanford, Florida has shocked a nation and left some wondering about the state of race relations in this country and how far have we really come in this country, where a young Trayvon Martin wearing a hoodie is grounds for being murdered? In 2010, writer J. Michael Straczynski embarked on a retelling of the origin of Superman. Straczynski portrayed a young Clark Kent as a brooding, goth like young teen just learning about his new found powers. It’s enough to say that this young Clark Kent was drawn with a hoodie, as many young teens are driven to this form of wear. If a young Clark Kent would have strolled into that gated community on a rainy night wearing his hoodie, would George Zimmerman be so prone to take a shot at him?
