Birth A.D. is pleased to announce their appearance at WTF Fest, a traveling experimental art and music event that will come to major cities like Portland and Seattle. The band will appear

at the Austin engagement on Wednesday, March 14, which coincides with the week-long music showcases of SXSW. WTF Fest is not a metal festival, but rather a collection of subversive and outspoken artists, including performances from Mike IX Williams (EYEHATEGOD), Martin Atkins (PIGFACE), and much more.

Birth A.D.bassist/vocalist Jeff Tandy comments on the band’s involvement : “This is one of those events where a lot of ideas will be thrown around and everyone will get a chance to make their statement. Sometimes it seems like art is the only real democracy we have, the only avenue where you can express yourself without being instantly shouted down. There are other countless undergrounds out there besides metal, and it will be fun to interface with so many different minds.”
The event will take place at Ruta Maya Live Venue, and admission is free, but donations to support the event and its artists are gratefully accepted at the festival’s Kickstarter site.

Birth A.D. recently entered Pyramid Sound with producer Alex Perialas to record their debut full-length, entitled I Blame You. Details on the release are forthcoming.

About BIRTH A.D.

In the fearsome tradition of crossover thrash forged by acts like D.R.I., S.O.D., C.O.C, and a lot of other bands with three-letter acronyms comes BIRTH A.D.! The band formed in 2008 in Austin, Texas, as a side project of Candlelight Recording artists Averse Sefira.

BIRTH A.D.’s first offering was the self-produced EP, Stillbirth of a Nation, released in 2009. Their take on crossover’s head-on collision of punk, hardcore and speed metal comes with a up-to-date indictment of America and life in the new millennium. It’s angry, fast, catchy as hell, and it’s guaranteed to cause total chaos wherever it goes! The band’s inaugural outing was a successful eleven-date tour of Japan in October 2009. Since then they have appeared in support of numerous high-profile touring acts throughout the United States.

Band lineup:

Jeff Tandy – Yelling, Bass

Brian Morrison – Guitars

Mark Perry – Drums
