Warriors Of Metal Fest Open Air is honored to announce that the Baltimore based Progressive Power Metal band MYSTIC-FORCE will be participating in our 5th anniversary show on June 29th & 30th, 2012 at the Frontier Ranch, 8836 York Road in Pataskala, Ohio in 2012. Mystic-Force will come out of dormancy to travel to Europe for the first time to play at the Keep It True XV Metal Festival in Germany in April of 2012 before storming our stage in Late June! Lead by none other than Keith Menser, the organizer of the legendary US Powermad Metal Festival (1997-2001), he will be re-releasing the entire Mystic-Force discography plus a new record and a Best Of Compilation for the band through his Siegen Records in 2012. We are very excited to have added this remarkable band to our equally remarkable line-up for Warriors of Metal Fest V Open Air this year.
Just as we welcome back Twisted Tower Dire as a WOM Fest veteran band from our 2009 show, we’re very excited to welcome back our 2nd WOM Fest veteran band and outstanding Kansas City, Missouri Progressive Power Metal band, ANCIENT CREATION to Warriors Of Metal Fest Open Air for this year’s special 5th year anniversary show on June 29th & 30th, 2012. Ancient Creation was the very first band booked from outside Ohio to play at WOM Fest II Open Air in 2009 and we’re pleased to have them back amongst our Metal family once more. Ancient Creation is signed to North Carolina’s Heaven & Hell Records which released the band’s 3rd full length album Moonlight Monument to rave reviews in the Spring of 2011.
The Chicago based Progressive Power Metal band, FIERCE ATMOSPHERES has confirmed their participation in Warriors Of Metal Fest V Open Air on Friday, June 29th, 2012. Ex-Nasty Savage guitarist Eric Gosselin reached out to us & actually attended WOM Fest III Open Air (2010) in Chillicothe, OH to give me their press packet in person which was very impressive to say the least. we knew then that we had a Fest supporter in this prospective band so we’ve been waiting for the proper opportunity to showcase this talented band and our 5th year anniversary show seemed like as good a time as any.
Hailing from North Carolina, DARK DESIGN is a Progressive Power Metal outfit with shredding guiars courtesy of Mike Joyner and Ray Lewis, bass and backing vocals by Matt Mercer, drums by Robbie Mercer and they are fronted by the absoloutely relentless Andrew Bertrand whose incredible onstage performance puts the Energizer Bunny to shame. This band generously hosted the WOM Fest IV touring Brazilian Thrash Metal band MACHINAGE last year and they were a sight to behold during their incredible performance opening for Nuclear Blast’s While Heaven Wept, Twisted Tower Dire (WOM Fest II & V), Widow (WOM Fest III & IV) and Hellrazor (WOM Fest II) at a benefit show we attended in Raleigh, NC’s Volume 11 in May of 2011. They are currently recording their debut album and we hope it will be out by Fest time. We are very excited to host this awesome young band at our festival this year.
The Michigan based Heavy Metal band, BORROWED TIME, has openned for such Metal legends as Accept, Saxon, and Diamond Head in Detroit and now they will also honor our humble True Metal festival by getting us started on the right note on Friday, June 29th, 2012! We’re sure a lot of our Fest fans will recognize the 2 year veteran of the Fest, a steadfast supporter of our efforts and 2011 ASKA fan sponsor, Dennis Schwan on stage playing bass with Borrowed Time just like he sang with ASKA’s Keith Knight on their final song perfomance of WOM Fest IV Open Air along with the other ASKA fan sponsors last year! We welcome Borrowed Time to our 5th year anniversary show and look forward to a great set from them.
From Burlington, Vermont, the Heavy Metal band, AMADIS have officially confirmed their participation in Warriors Of Metal Fest V Open Air. Amadis has had an introductory 3 song demo called Hell Devil! (with a killer cover art) and they are working on their debut album to be released this year. Band manager and guitarist, Chaim Rochester describes the Amadis musical style as: “Modern Classic Metal! We’re like Heavy Metal the movie, but as the band. We sound like a freight train full of sharks shot out of a laser cannon!” With something like 90 minutes worth of original materials it seems like a shame to limit this band to just 40 minutes but with their energetic Live show and the amount of headbanging they’ll induce, it’ll be good to keep our audience wanting more! We’re very excited to host Amadis for our special 5th year anniversary show this year, just to see what kind of East Coast Metal we’re missing out on!
