Joe Simon, legendary comic book writer, creator and artist has passed away at the age of 98, according to his son’s Facebook posts. Simon’s most notable co creation (with Jack Kirby) Captain America, was recently featured in the Marvel Comics movie Captain America: The First Avenger. Joe Simon was a titan in comic books from it’s hey day beginnings in the early part of the 20th Century. With partner Jack Kirby, Simon went on to work and become the editor of Timely Comics (Later to become Marvel Comics). Simon went on to create Fighting American, and Boys’ Ranch. And also worked on Captain Marvel Adventures #1 for Fawcett Comics which featured The Marvel Family and The Boy Cammandos.

Joe Simon continued to work till recent times, as a character he created, Shield Master for Organix Comics, will be released this year.
