So two interesting press releases came out last week from record label Razor & Tie concerning Florida based rockers Nonpoint…The first one is below…

Razor & Tie is pleased to announce the addition of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida rockers Nonpoint to its label and publishing rosters.    The band has been on a major roll recently, having wrapped up a two year tour in support of their album Miracle with a triumphant show in front of 6,000 fans at Wisconsin’s at Taste of Madison.  The Miracle tour also saw other exciting benchmarks for the band, including performances at the Metal Hammer Awards, U.K’s Download Festival and Australia’s Soundwave Festival where they were the recipients of an MTV Soundie Award (courtesy of MTV Classic Australia). Nonpoint also re-established themselves at Active Rock radio with their hit “Miracle” breaking into the Top 15.

Nonpoint is already deep into writing their forthcoming new album having demo’d over two dozen songs. The new album is currently slated for a spring of 2012 release.

“We couldn’t be happier or more excited about our up-coming new partnership with Razor & Tie. Their aggressive staff and fresh plan of attack has us excited to get this record on the shelves and on the airwaves because I know they will reach for greatness and are as proud of being a part of this project as we are.  We’re very much looking forward to the next album cycle,” comments Elias Soriano of Nonpoint.

Formed in 1997, Nonpoint has since released eight full-length albums and one live album selling over 750,000 albums in North America.  With over a decade of extensive road work under their belts, the band has toured with All That Remains, Mudvayne, Papa Roach, Sevendust, Disturbed, Flyleaf, Buckcherry, Drowning Pool, Stone Sour, and Hell Yeah and graced the stages of Ozzfest, Rock On The Range and Summerfest. Additional career high marks include “Bullet With A Name” peaking at #22 on the Mainstream Rock charts as well as being featured on the game “WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007” and in the 2007 film The Condemned.  The band’s cover of Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight” was the theme song for the movie Miami Vice and also landed them on the Mainstream Rock charts.

Nonpoint is managed by Izzy Zivkovic (Split Media) and represented for touring by Tim Borror and Anthony Paolercio for The Agency Group.

Nonpoint is the latest addition to independent label Razor & Tie’s expanding Rock roster that includes such artists as All That Remains, For Today, P.O.D., Such Gold, Chelsea Grin, Shadows Fall, Norma Jean, Attila, Saves The Day, Hit the Lights, and many more.  The New York City-based label is one of the fastest growing independent record companies in the United States, and has garnered both Platinum sales and Grammy awards in its 20-year history.

Great, awesome, amazing right? Being a huge Nonpoint fan I was ellated that thew band recieved a new record and publishing deal. Well, the next day, we got this…

After years of performing together, Nonpoint have confirmed that the band will be moving on without the service of guitarist Zach Broderick and founding member bassist Ken MacMillan.

Founding members frontman Elias Soriano and drummer Robb Rivera will continue writing with new members for the forthcoming new Nonpoint album, which is slated for a 2012 summer release. Ken and Zach are currently involved in a new project that will be announced within the immediate future. Both parties wish to thank their fans for their continued support over the years.

WTF Nonpooint? What happened? Anywho, hopefully this won’t affect the sound and momentum the band has been generating the past couple of years.
