Oh my goodness! Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin is on HBO as is True Blood. The final Harry Potter has been released. All of the individual “Avengers” flicks have come out. I just may have my own super powers!
Two thousand eleven! You win. Where do I even start? Well, with Game of Thrones. Houses clash and use magic and dragons to gain power, presteige and the infamous Iron Throne of Westeros. I love George R.R. Martin. I love these books. I love the families. I love the violence. I love the twincest and you know what? I love the rapin’. Sorry feminsts. HBO has brought book one “A Game of Ice and Fire” to life without too many differences. PS: I still want to fuck half of the characters. Favorites: Characters: 3 way tie: Arya Stark, Syrio Forrel, Tyrion Lannister. Favorite House: Lannister’s of Casterly Rock. Favorite Sigil: The Kraken of House Greyjoy. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. First off… Yes, if you saw it opening night in Montrèal, in 3D…that was me crying. I was crying for the characters that died, the characters that lived and the end of an era. I cried for Remus Lupin, I cried for Harry who went through it all and I cried for Neville Longbottom, for having such strength. I wish there was more. I’m sad to say that I saw it and well, that was it. I have read all of the books but I didn’t feel satisfied. I am not readyto let go of the boy who was orphaned and lived under the stair. What I wouldn’t give to teach at Hogwarts. Potions Mistress.
Captain America: Let me start off with this…I’d never been too into him. You know, I read the essential ones but I wasn’t an expert. I loved the movie! I’m from Brooklyn, so you have to love the hometown kid. Besides, we have the same accent. Not to mention, fuck Nazis. I was afraid that this movie would be non-stop propaganda, which was why I never read the comic, but it wasn’t. If you haven’t seen it, stay until the end credits are done for the Avengers trailer!
Cowboys and Aliens: Han Solo? Indiana Jones? YES! I’m going to love Harrison Ford forever. Why? See above. I’ll watch a movie of him writing his grocery list because he’ll still be more of a bad ass than anyone else, ever. EVER! EVER!!!! The aliens were weird. They weren’t like the “Communion” aliens, they were like a mix between the aliens in “Signs” and “Independence Day”. I liked it. A whole bunch!
True Blood Season Four: Alan Ball, what the fuck are you doing?!? I have read every single Sookie Stackhouse book that Charlaine Harris has written and I don’t think he has. Some characters are alive that shouldn’t be…some are dicks that shouldn’t be. I don’t know. I will say that I am wearing a Sam Merlotte t-shirt. Also, Alcide is delicious. Why is Bill the King?!? Bah! I suppose if you’re going to be a fan of the books and show, you need to disassociate one from the other because they are so different!
So far it’s totally been a supernatural/super hero season! Let’s see what we get next!
