The album is full of great songs, most of which have a decent variety of instrumental and lyrical greatness. Each song varies in tone and gives itself a differentiation from the others on the disc. There is a different intro to every song, a different utilization of every instrument, and it brings it all together. Although this is true, there is a common ground for each song that has Sixx: A.M. stamped on it. This is Gonna Hurt identifies the band and delivers an extremely gratifying set-list that will have you listening and wanting more.

However, each and every song on the album follows through with the former, each having its own contribution to the album that makes most of them memorable and extremely catchy at that. Although the band doesn’t exploit any insanely skilled guitar riffs or drum solos, it has the capacity to and chooses to show this potential in a non-overbearing way that makes This is Gonna Hurt an awesome album.
