AUTOPSY RELEASES ‘MACABRE ETERNAL’

California death metal legend Autopsy has unleashed its long-awaited fifth studio album Macabre Eternal, out today on Peaceville Records. One of the early breed of US death metal acts, and most respected names in the genre, Autopsy formed in 1987 in San Francisco, and released four albums on Peaceville Records – beginning with the classic debut Severed Survival in 1989 – before disbanding in 1995 with members going on to form Abscess.
Autopsy triumphantly and officially returned from the grave after a 15-year hiatus with the 2010 EP, ‘The Tomb Within’, delighting critics and fans alike.
Both ‘The Tomb Within’ EP and Macabre Eternal were recorded at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, CA, and reunite the original trio of Chris Reifert, Danny Coralles, and Eric Cutler, joined on bass by Joe Trevisano (ex-Abscess).
Autopsy will play several festival dates in 2011 in support of Macabre Eternal.
