Stoners' Delight

If you thought you were clever with your weed tea and brownies, do I have a book for you! Oh man.. be prepared for a book about how to solve the munchies.. with the munchies!

When my boss handed me this book to review, my first two thoughts were: 1- This isn’t a comic! and 2- I guess this means I have to cook something. The book in question is called “Stoners’ Delight” and it’s by Dane Noon and Lex Lucid. Real names? HAHA! It’s rad.

Now, even if you have never come in contact with the wacky tobaccy, this book introduces cannabis, explains how THC works and describes the differences between weed and hashish. Then, it turns into the simplest and most fun cookbook, with weed as the main ingredient. Imagine if Iron Chef was all about getting high and laughing for an episode. OK… imagine it with the Godzilla voiceovers and really pretty Japanese models. Not this weird American version.

Of course, for legal reasons, I cannot say that I have made any of these fantastically delicious meals. I will however say that this book has appetizers, light and heavier meals as well as desserts. I will say that because of the way that THC works (bonds with fats) these recipes aren’t vegan. (Whatever, just smoke some weed if you want to get high.) After the How To’s and explanations of weed, ie: the types and strengths…there are the table of contents, which is broken down into various types of food.

They are: Space Cakes, Tea and Bliss-cuits, Pot Party Food and Main Meals and Munchies. At the end of the recipe section there is an area called “Big Ideas” and it’s sort of a pot head journal to write down your favorite recipes, mixes and thoughts about the book.

Since I can’t provide my normal short synopsis, here’s a day’s worth of recipes to keep you stoned, just do me a favor and don’t set your house on fire.. and if you do, don’t sue me!

Breakfast: Blueberry pancakes (page 84)
Lunch: Tortilla wraps with Refried Beans (page 74)
MUNCHIES: Golden Nugget Popcorn (page 62)
Dinner: Classic Bolognese with a Twist (page 75) and Masala Chai (page 56)
MUNCHIES, ROUND II: The Ultimate Chocolate Brownie (page 34)

Now, this book is SO MUCH FUN! My boss made sure that he knew I had to return this to his fiance. I normally get to keep everything I review, but this one is a lender. BOO! I am handing back this little treasure, with the good news that it’s only $10.00 and full of recipes that are delicious, easy to make and get you fucked up. I mean.. you know, if you’re into that sort of thing.

I do want to apologize for not having written for you all, for such a long time. I do work full time as well as go to graduate school full time, and I steal the internet from my neighbors. If they don’t pay their bills, I can’t write. Oh what, you’re going to judge me now? I just reviewed a weed cookbook. I promise to have more write ups on time, as long as those deadbeats pay their bills on time!
