The Big Kahuna Comic Book News, News

This month Dark Horse is proud to present the Dollhouse comic Epitaphs, a continuation of the Fox television show of the same name and a precursor to the upcoming comics miniseries!

In major cities around the globe, Dollhouses provided wealthy clients with any kind of companionship they required. For a price, beautiful young men and women opted to have their minds wiped clean, turning themselves into “dolls” who could be imprinted with computer-enhanced personalities and skills—to fit any buyer’s request. Now the Dollhouse technology has gone viral…

Epitaphs resumes Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse television series following the spread of a technological virus that turns humans into mindless “butchers.” The comic is set in a postapocalyptic landscape where we witness how the world changed and how people survived in the days following the demise of civilized society. This one-shot continues from where the show left off, just as the apocalypse reared its ugly head, and reintroduces characters from fan-favorite episodes—Epitaph One and Epitaph Two—that took place a decade after the initial spread of the virus. Penned by show writers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, those two episodes raised fan expectations and revealed a rough-and-tumble world that fans craved to know more about. That world is explored in Dollhouse: Epitaphs, a story that takes place after the virus has spread and before those groundbreaking episodes transpired.

Epitaphs is a great introduction to a new world order created by technology gone awry and the destruction that ensues, with humanity’s salvation in the hands of a few brave survivors.

Whether they’re fans of the Dollhouse show, of creator Joss Whedon, or of fantastic sci-fi, postapocalyptic survival stories, Dollhouse: Epitaphs has a little something for everyone!

It’s never too late to catch up on the show either—check out seasons one and two streaming on Netflix, or pick up the DVDs at your local video store or retailer.
