The Big Kahuna Hard Music, News
The date is finally upon us. Erebos, the new album from Poland’s blackened death metal masters, HATE, has arrived on North American shores. A punishing display of extreme metal at it’s finest, Erebos is already being heralded as the band’s most devastating effort to date, with Blistering.com giving the album “two horns up” and Apoch’s Metal Review calling it “…one of more impressive Black and Death Metal efforts to come out in recent years.” For those of you who still need convincing, AOL’s Noisecreep.com is streaming the album’s title track at this location.
In support of the North American release of Erebos, HATE has announced a massive attack containing two tours in the US and Canada. On the first tour, starting   March 9th, the band will team up with Rotting Christ, Melechesh and others for 30 shows. For the second tour, which kicks off on   April 18th, HATE will support Sepultura, Belphegor and, on select shows Nevermore, during a 38-show run covering the US and Canada. The band has also been confirmed to play some extra concerts between the mentioned tours. The HATE North America invasion will contain altogether 76 shows in the period of three months! Bandleader ATF Sinner comments,
“We’ve been looking for such an opportunity for years. It’s going to be the biggest and most presigious tour we’ve taken part in, and we just can’t wait to be there to spew Erebos songs on the crowds! I know such a long tour is a challenge, but I’m sure we’re well prepare for it. It’s gonna be our second tour in North America after last year’s raid with Hypocrisy which was a great experience for us.”

HATE frontman ATF Sinner recently hooked up with MetalAssault.com‘s Aniruddh “Andrew” Bansal to discuss Erebos, the North American tour and many other things. An audio recording of their conversation can be found here

Considered by many to be one of Poland’s most extreme musical exports, HATE has been brutalizing listeners with their distinct brand of death metal since the genre’s glory days of the 1990’s. Eventually incorporating elements of black, industrial and ambience into their already intricate and relentless style, HATE quickly became known as one of metal’s great innovators. Keeping that tradition alive, the band recently entered Hertz Studio in Bialystok to record their newest masterpiece, Erebos. Completed in only five weeks’ time, Erebos promises to be the strongest HATE album thus far. Ferocious, challenging, complex, varied, innovative, and extremely well-produced, Erebos is HATE in full-swing! Erebos is set to be released in North America on February 22nd, 2011. Until then prepare to HATE and “Taste my Blood From a Thousand Cuts!”

The American version of Erebos album will contain 4 bonus tracks. Two of them are dark ambient re-mixes of HATE songs made by a French artist named Melek-tha, known for his collaboaration with a German band Secrets Of The Moon. Other bonuses are industrial-ambient compositions by a Polish composer Michał Staczkun, whose ideas also appeared in other songs on the band’s new album.

“Erebos is Hate’s seventh album and now our favorite. Syncopate, super-charged, sinister – modern death metal just doesn’t get much better than this. If you’re looking for some professional-grade groove with your DM venom, this is a fucking good start to your year.”  NoCleanSinging.com

“One of the most consistent death metal acts in a massive scene, steadily managing to improve themselves over the course of seven albums. Like Behemoth, these Polish extreme metallers play a similar style of blackened death metal. Hate continue to crank it up a notch each release and the 10 track “Erebos” continues to show that these guys are not messing around when it comes to producing quality death metal.” – Metal Asylum

“That Hate have matured is not in contention, because they’ve here produced an album that can survive a number of listens without losing the listener’s attention.” – From the Dust Returned

“Hate churn a technical blackened death amalgam that recalls the sonic ferocity of their country mates in Vader and but, thanks in part to their exacting  use of industrial and ambient undertones, are very much their own brutalic war beast. The follow-up to the critically high-fived Morphosis long player offers up 10 tracks of volcanic breakdowns, carefully spaced blasts, acoustic interludes, and epically sinister melodies that stick to the ribs like good golonka.” – Decibel
“This is an extraordinarily good album, with excellent, complex yet not impenetrable songs and admirably technical musical performances. It’s easily the best material I’ve heard from Hate.”

MetalReviews.com
“The band has risen from their underrated status and delivered an album that should elevate them into the next level. Is it a neck snapping, razor sharp display of Polish excellence that will satiate fans of Behemoth? Fuck yes.” – TeethoftheDivine.com
“The production is enormous! Feel like I am being pummeled by Cain Velasquez in the stomach.”  – Hellbound.ca
