The Big Kahuna Comic Book News, Hard Music

Indiana war-metallers INVASION have grabbed the metal community by its collective cajones with their pummeling Rotting Corpse Records debut, Orchestrated Kill Maneuver. Since the summer of 2010, INVASION has been praised by critics and fans alike for their relentless assault of old-school infused death/thrash. Feeding off the momentum they’ve created for themselves, INVASION are promising bigger and better things for 2011 as the band proudly announces the addition of new guitarist, Stabhoth to their ranks. Guitarist/vocalist Phlegm comments on the recent line-up change and the band’s forthcoming follow up to Orchestrated Kill Maneuver.

“As the juggernaut of INVASION rolls steadily forward it appears we have suffered another casualty along the path of war & debris.  Our guitarist ‘Nifelhenious’ has decided to abandon the cause of sonic decapitation & fury and relegate himself to a studio-only musician/producer. ‘Nifelhenious’ currently owns/runs his own studio in the Elkhart, Indiana area and pressing issues have lead to our mutual decision. We have since found our new guitarist from the mayhemic killzone of Indiana’s Nocturnal Torment & have added ‘Stabhoth’ in his place.  He is an excellent guitarist and has already contributed material to our forth coming release which will be in the vein of Orchestrated Kill Maneuver on Rotting Corpse Records.  As of this time talks are in the works for several live appearances in 2011 but these are merely rumours as we have been offered shows in the Chicago area.  In the meantime will continue working on the fourth album (currently untitled) so be prepared for total war!!!!”

“Now this is war metal. Like Bolt Thrower and Hail of Bullets, war themes lend themselves particularly well to simple, workmanlike, brutal death metal, and Invasion’s cannonading beats and grinding riffs do a fantastic job. When it’s played with as much verve as on this record, we’ll never tire of it.” – Decibel (8/10)

“This is crushing old school death metal. Do yourself a favour and check this shit out.” – Global Domination (8/10)

“They have the tone, the speed and the chops to blow away a lot of the competition. It took them 8 years to put out Orchestrated Kill Maneuver, but the wait was definitely worth it.”
 – Hellbound.ca (8.5/10)

“Invasion certainly still have what it takes to deliver destructive thrashing death metal in the vein of Asphyx, Pestilence and Bolt Thrower. Orchestrated Kill Maneuver is a worthy comeback for the veteran act, and one that’s well and truly worth the wait for.” – The Metal Forge (8.5/10)

“Invasion come off as a collision occurring somewhere between Bolt Thrower and Dismember, but manage the trick quite nicely by writing some really catchy songs. It would be a war crime if this album escapes your notice.” – Metal Flows in My Veins

With Orchestrated Kill Maneuver, they’ve blasted back into action like a SCUD missile slamming into a South Korean trawler. This is 100% WAR METAL and it’s about as close as any American band is going to get to the classic Swedish death metal sound. Anybody into old Grave, Asphyx, Hail of Bullets and the like can enlist immediately.” – Wormwood Chronicles

“Buzzsaw guitar work coupled with a low end growl from Phlegm give any lover of rotten death metal a chance to sacrifice further brain cells and head bang like a possessed priest.”
– Metal Team UK

“Orchestratedrocks and rolls with the best of ’em, crushing competition with Panzer-like force, utilizing every Swe-death trick in the book to drive their simplest of points home: to kill and destroy. Orchestrated Kill Maneuver is a ripper.”
 – MetalManiacs.com

“The Invasion sound is immense. Combining the vicious attack of late 80’s/early 90’s Scandinavian guitar crunch with razor sharp hate-filled vocals, unrelenting drum attacks and bludgeoning guitar tones mixed with straight forward face ripping riffs comprise the sounds of war.” – Brutalism

“Fans of raw, Swedish death metal take notice!” – Blistering

“With thrashing buzz-saw chord progressions rising and falling in tempo like an orchestra of artillery, blazing leads with banshee wails, carpet-bombing drum beats, and a blistering bass that for all intensive purposes thunders through the speakers like tremors, Orchestrated Kill Maneuver features every tenant of their musical roots with controlled abandon.” – CWG Magazine

“They are the best US war/death metal band, especially if feel you would fancy a blend of Asphyx, Pestilence, Bolt Thrower, Death, Incantation, Dismember and Autopsy.A band that many had probably thought was history has just taken history and smeared it across your face.” – From the Dust Returned

“Orchestral Kill Maneuver is a joyous savagery! A tribute to the bloody war! – Pest Webzine
