» Blog Archive Buffy Bests Competition On Bookscan List -
Everybody’s favorite vampire slayer received some critical and sales-related accolades.

Did you buy Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 8 Volume 7: Twilight recently? Yes? Well, you’re not the only one!

This week, the reunion between Joss Whedon’s slayer extraordinaire the steamy ensouled vampire Angel (otherwise known as Volume 7: Twilight) reached the top of Nielsen’s Bookscan list. What does that mean? Well, Bookscan tallies all point-of-sale purchases from bookstores, chains like Barnes & Noble and Borders, as well as Amazon.com and other retail outlets like Costco, capturing approximately 75% of sales for a typical book. Of all the graphic novels in all the bookstores… well, looks like Buffy was walking out of a great deal of them in the arms of excited slayer enthusiasts!

But wait! There’s more…
Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 8 Volume 6: Retreat made Amazon.com’s Best of 2010: Best Books list under the “Comics & Graphic Novels” category. The Chosen One is in good company in the Top 10, as Alex Barnaby from Janet and Alex Evanovich’s Troublemaker Book 1 secured a spot on the list as well. Go Team Dark Horse!
