San Francisco Bay Area gore legend, Autopsy, has launched a new official website in lieu of their resurrection as a band, and the release of their first album of newly recorded tracks in over a decade, ‘The Tomb Within’ EP.  Autopsy’s new official site can be viewed at: target=”_blank”>http://www.autopsydeathmetal.com, and will be frequently updated with Autopsy news, media, and more.             The highly anticipated, ‘The Tomb Within’ EP, hit stores on October 5th on Peaceville Records.  It was recorded in mid-July 2010 at Fantasy Studios with Adam Munoz, and unites the original trio of Chris Reifert, Danny Coralles, and Eric Cutler, joined on bass by Joe Trevisano (ex-Abscess).              “If you are into metal and you don’t like this your head needs thorough examination,” raves Heavymetal.about.com.             Cover art is supplied by renowned fantasy/horror artist, Matt Cavotta.

             Both the CD and 12” vinyl edition of ‘The Tomb Within’ can be purchased now at the Peaceville webstore.  The vinyl edition comes with a free poster of the stunning cover artwork, and is limited to just 1000 numbered copies.  It can purchased online at: http://www.burningshed.com/store/peaceville/product/261/2264/, while the CD edition can be ordered at: http://www.burningshed.com/store/peaceville/product/261/2265/.             The EP’s title track is currently streaming on the album’s mini-site at: http://www.peaceville.com/autopsy/.  Along with the song stream, the mini-site also features audio samples of each of the EP’s four other gut-wrenching tracks, as well as an in studio, behind-the-scenes video trailer, offering fans a glimpse at the creative process of Autopsy’s latest musical bloodbath.             Autopsy decided to make an official comeback after working together on two songs for the special 20th anniversary edition of their debut album, Severed Survival, in late 2008.  The band had originally decided to split before the release of their 4th album, Shitfun, in 1995.             Autopsy emerged in 1987, and had an almost immediate impact on the global underground heavy metal scene.  Vocalist Chris Reifert was already known due to his work as drummer with Florida’s highly respected extreme metal combo, Death, along with Chuck Schuldiner.  Autopsy’s debut album, Severed Survival, was unleashed in 1989 on Peaceville Records, and the band went on to become true legends in the death metal scene, recording four studio albums in total, before splitting up in the mid 90’s.             Stay tuned for more information on Autopsy and ‘The Tomb Within’.   Autopsy is… Chris Reifert – drums/vocals Danny Coralles – guitar Eric Cutler – guitar Joe Trevisano – bass     For more info… www.autopsydeathmetal.com www.peaceville.com
