Turkish old school deathsters and Dark Descent recording artists BURIAL INVOCATION have been invited to play Denmark’s Kill-Town Death Fest, one of the few non-Scandinavian acts participating. The lineup will also include Dark Descent bands STENCH OF DECAY and MIASMAL, both of whom will be releasing albums on the label in 2011.
GRAVEHILL’s Rites of Pentagram is how real death metal is done; no fruity keyboards, no emo or fake guttural vocals, no triggered drumming, no lame sub-par At The Gates wannabe riffs, no association with the word ‘core’ or a band name that is a sentence long and no cramming 5,000 riffs with political themed lyrics.
On the heels of their split CD with THE LAST VAN ZANT and THE PARISH, DESOLATEVOID has been placed on RateYourMusic.com’s list of “Essential Doom Metal You’ve Never Heard.” Ranked 25th on an ever growing list, the article applauds the band’s “form of gritty, crusty, in your face, Southern sludgy metal…” and compares them to the likes of EYEHATEGOD, SOILENT GREEN, OUTLAW ORDER and GOATWHORE.

“Wonder Woman was my first introduction to superheroes and, later, my first introduction to comics books. She’s always been a presence in my life and was very much the reason for my choosing comics as a career. Working on Wonder Woman over the last few months with Gail Simone and Greg Rucka has been an absolute highlight for me and I feel extremely privileged to be contributing to her landmark issue.
“Did you bring your Lasso of Truth?” people ask me, and I have to laugh. But it’s true—Wonder Woman accessorizes. She is, after all, a very savvy woman. But as we all know, form follows function. Everything she wears has a purpose: Her golden bracelets deflect bullets, her Venus Girdle endows her with superhuman strength, her tiara boomerangs and her lasso holds others to the truth that she, herself, lives by. And that’s just what we can see. Wonder Woman’s intellect is her real power. She’s honest and disarming, and she kicks butt.
