Finnish folk metal goliaths ENSIFERUM will return to US and Canadian stages on a two-week headlining tour. The Winter Storm Over North America tour begins with their appearance at this year’s edition of Prog Power USA in Atlanta, Georgia and runs through September 27th in Seattle, Washington. Support will be provided by Firewind.
This November/December, Ensiferum will embark on their “Path To Victory” North American headlining tour, featuring Kalmah, Abigail Williams, and Aenimus as support. Ensiferum‘s Sami Hinkka (Bass/Vocals) comments: “Hi folks! It’s time to get back on the road for one last time before we head to studio to record the next Ensiferum album. We couldn’t be more thrilled about the upcoming North America tour! It’s gonna be fireworks of metal for the whole evening because we’ll share the stage with awesome bands: Kalmah, Abigail Williams and Aenimus!”
It’s been a while since Ensiferum have graced North America with their presence. Three and a half years, to be exact. For any band that’s an eternity, but Ensiferum’s fans are patient and the waiting has finally paid off. The band have finally made their return in a time when most European bands find themselves forced to cancel tours and settle for their loss, and the fans came out in droves to see the band be welcomed back knowing that they have actually touched down in America. Their return to New York was nothing less than a triumphant return.
Ensiferum are the folk metal band that everyone is exposed to at some point or another. Typically when you think of folk metal and the sonic aspects of it, Ensiferum is the first band that’ll comes to mind. While the band has been steady with their releases in the past few years, they always manage to resurface just as you’re beginning to wonder where they went. Following that trend, the band have revealed their new album, Two Paths, is on the way.
As previously announced, Ensiferum recently entered the Astia studio in Lappeenranta, Finland to begin work on their seventh full-length, which will be produced once again by Anssi Kippo (Children Of Bodom, Impaled Nazarene, Entwine etc.). Set to be released September 2017 via Metal Blade Records, the quintet has now issued an update about the recording process from in the studio.
One Man Army is the sixth studio album from Finnish folk metal forbearers, ENSIFERUM. Set to drop next month via Metal Blade Records, the predominantly analog-recorded offering was captured by award-winning producer Anssi Kippo (Children Of Bodom, Impaled Nazarene, Entwine etc.) at Astia-Studios in Lappeenranta, Finland and delivers eleven punishingly epic odes alongside a four-track bonus CD featuring the band’s rendition of Barathrum’s “Warmetal,” Iron Maiden’s “Wrathchild,” Uriah Heep’s “Lady In Black,” and Judas Priest’s “Breaking The Law“.
Ensiferum has completed work on their upcoming new album, “One Man Army.” The band spent the last few weeks at Astia Studio (astiastudio.fi) in Lappeenranta in Finland with producer Anssi Kippo. The album is scheduled for release on February 24 in North America, and February 23/20 in UK/Europe. New music, art, track listing, and video clips from the studio will be online within the next few weeks. Next week, Ensiferum will be filming a brand new music video with Grupa #13 in Poland. Grupa #13 is the production house behind some of the most spectacular music videos in metal, including videos from Behemoth, Amon Amarth, and more.
