The new album before me today, Let Time Begin by BEAK, is a big ol slab of Heavy, with a wide field of view of genres, excellent playing, and a pure brooding atmosphere. Its a pretty good listen, but that’s not really saying much, eh? More after the break!  

ProgPower USA has announced the line up for ProgPower XVI, which will include Falconer‘s final live performance. A video featuring music from the bands announced so far can be found on facebook.com/ProgPowerUSA. The festival is scheduled to take place in Atlanta, GA September 11-12 next year. Tickets will go on sale on October 4 through Ticketmaster.

In October 2014, Drowning Pool will embark on a US tour celebrating the Unlucky 13th Anniversary of the release of their seminal debut record, Sinner, which features the hard rock anthem, “Bodies”. In celebration of 13 years, the band will perform the entire Sinner album followed by their other hits.

Italian death metal miscreants BLOODTRUTH will levy the auditory punishment of their debut album, Obedience, upon the ears of the living this coming Tuesday, plus they have just launched a playthrough video at Gear Gods.  

Black metal trio IMPURIUM have released the music video for “Again We Freeze,” a track taken from, Unleashing a Cacophony of Destruction, the band’s recent split disc with THRONE OF SACRILEGE.  

MONUMENTS show no sign of slowing down or getting homesick. After touring Europe with Dioramic and Protest The Hero, they headed off to North America for a run with Glass Cloud and Scale The Summit. It looks like North America liked what they heard and saw, because MONUMENTS are about to start their 1st headlining tour with support coming from Polyphia, Villains, Lionfight tomorrow.
