It is being reported that Emilia Clarke is in the final stage of negotiations with Marvel to be involved in their upcoming Secret Invasion series which will be on Disney+. Variety is the one that reported that Clarke would be joining a cast that already includes Samuel L. Jackson, Kinglsey Ben-Adir, and Olivia Colman. The comic Secret Invasion is “a story that involves a subversive, long-term invasion of Earth by the Skrulls, a group of alien shapeshifters who have secretly replaced many superheroes in the Marvel Universe with impostors over a period of years, prior to the overt invasion. Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has dropped. This film will star Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, Ronny Chieng, and Michelle Yeoh. The storyline follows Shang-Chi who is made to look to his past while being brought into the Ten Rings. The film is scheduled to be released on September 3rd, 2021.

John Schaffer, the guitarist of the Iced Earth has become the first Capitol rioter to plead guilty on charges of his participation in the January 6th riots that took place on the Capitol. Reports are coming out that he is now working in cooperation with the government. Schaffer met with U.S District Court Judge Amit Mehta on Friday morning and came to a deal that he understood meant that he would need to “cooperate fully with the United States”. He pleaded guilty to charges that he obstructed Congresses efforts to certify the 2020 election and that he unlawfully entered a restricted building. Because of this agreement, Schaffer will be put into the witness protection program. Schaffer got caught red-handed... 

Last week, Marvel Comics announced a new saga spinning out of King in Black—EXTREME CARNAGE! Kicking off in July with EXTREME CARNAGE ALPHA #1, the event will take place over a series of one-shots, each one spotlighting a different symbiote offspring. After writer Clay McLeod Chapman and artist Chris Mooneyham return to the adventure of Andi Benton in EXTREME CARNAGE: SCREAM, Phage, one of the deadly life foundation Symbiotes, will get the spotlight in EXTREME CARNAGE: PHAGE #1 by writer Steve Orlando and artist Gerardo Sandoval.  

Throughout the week, StarWars.com has revealed a series of teasers spotlighting the major players of the highly-anticipated Marvel Comics crossover, STAR WARS: WAR OF THE BOUNTY HUNTERS! Drawn by artist Giuseppe Camuncoli, these headshot images will also serve as variant covers for upcoming tie-in issues of the event that will see Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Doctor Aphra, Boba Fett, the galaxy’s deadliest bounty hunters, and more on a collision course for the greatest prize of all: Han Solo! The final teaser was unveiled today and revealed that Jabba the Hutt, the infamous Tatooine crime lord, will also be joining the hunt in a special one-shot.  

Comics’ 50-year industry veteran Howard Chaykin returns for a new story arc of Hey Kids! Comics! this May titled Prophets & Loss. Image Comics is pleased to reveal an early preview from the six issue story arc which is set to hit shelves this May.  

Jeffery Dean Morgan of The Walking Dead has confirmed that a Neagan spin-off of The Walking Dead is in talks of coming to life. The show’s final season is premiering on August 22nd. Morgan appeared on the Conan show this last week to talk about the show and had a few interesting thoughts about the show and when it was brought up about Neagan he said “It’s definitely being talked about,” He also said “I think they’re thinking of a couple different ideas, but I’ve definitely had conversations about possibly continuing the story of Negan. You know, we just did the ‘Here’s Negan’ story, which is sort of the prequel [of] how Negan became this guy, and I shot that... 

Comic book documentarian Patrick Meaney (Grant Morrison: Talking With Gods, The Image Revolution) teams up with artist Jeff Edwards (G.I. Joe), with a story by Mohsen Ashraf, for the forthcoming Syphon. This three-issue, fantasy noir miniseries is set to launch from Image/Top Cow this July.
