Recently Knoxville, TN’s WHITECHAPEL and drummer Kevin Lane mutually decided to go their own ways and the internet is already abuzz with rumors as to the reasons behind the split. Kevin offered the following statement to answer fans questions as to why the drummer and the band parted ways:  

Finnish death metal outfit CORPSESSED has signed with Dark Descent Records for the CD release of their self-titled debut EP. Scheduled for an early 2011 release, the EP features six tracks of bludgeoning old-school death in the vein of Entombed, Incantation, Deicide, Immolation and Grave.  

Finland’s new wave prog/death metal supergroup has posted a video trailer in anticipation of its debut North American tour, “The Finnish Metal Tour 2”, which will kick off on January 31st in Orlando.   

The two-man Black Metal outfit known as HAT (Norwegian for Hatred) are releasing the follow-up to last year’s acclaimed The Demise Of Mankind this month on Abyss Records. Entitled Vortex Of Death, the band’s second full-length release promises to deliver the same razor-sharp aural nihilism as its predecessor.  

Swiss melodic-folk-death-metallers ELUVEITIE will return to North America this February, in support of their new latest masterpiece Everything Remains As It Never Was. Joining them will be 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, HOLY GRAIL, SYSTEM DIVIDE. Vocalist and mastermind Chrigel Glanzmann had this to say about the bands much anticipated return to our continent:  

On Sunday, February 13th, Chilean death metallers THORNAFIRE will share the stage with PESTILIENCE, VULCANO and nearly 40 others as part of the Macabre Fest II in Concón on the coast of Chile . In preparation for the festival, THORNAFIRE will join Chilean death/thrash cultists PENTAGRAM for a pair of shows in Santiago and the port city of Valparaiso .

  BRONX CASKET CO. will be releasing their forthcoming record entitled “AntiHero” on Tuesday, January 25th, 2011 via eOne Music. “This Bronx Casket record is the best we’ve done, and we are looking forward to getting out on the road and doing some shows,” says front man D.D. Verni.  

  Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, DevilDriver, Trivium) is slated to mix the album Unearth has entered Zing Studios with producer Adam D. of Killswitch Engage fame. This album will be the follow up to 2009’s The March, and will be followed by an intense touring schedule with a new, yet to be decided, full-time drummer in the lineup.
