IN FLAMES have yet again, been nominated at the Bandit Rock Awards. This time in the “Best Swedish Live Act” category. Last year IN FLAMES took home ALL three prizes they were nominated for and the year before that, the band also snatched a couple of awards. Austin heavy hitter’s ANEW REVOLUTION has announced a short run of dates this December. The band has recently finished recording their new record due early 2010 via E1 Music. They’ve spent the past few weeks at Spider Studios in Strongsville, Ohio with producer Ben Schigel (DROWNING POOL, WALLS OF JERICHO, CHIMAIRA, BREAKING POINT).  

The Godfathers of New York Hardcore, AGNOSTIC FRONT, are proud to announce their upcoming headlining tour with direct support coming from Orange County, CA’s DEATH BY STEREO. AGNOSTIC FRONT recently announced the addition of new drummer Pokey Mo (formerly of the legendary hardcore/metal crossover band LEEWAY).

Norwegian quintet Shining are about to unleash their fourthfull length album entitled Blackjazz on February 2, 2010. Their determination to create new sounds and cross boundaries has only been further stepped up with their latest ear-crushing achievement.  

British thrashers EVILE have thanked the many bands and artists who have donated items for the raffle to support the family of the band’s late bassist, MIKE ALEXANDER, who tragically passed away on October 5th while the band was on tour in Sweden.  

Here is the latest update from Wendy Dio: “Ronnie has been diagnosed with the early stages of stomach cancer. We are starting treatment immediately at the Mayo Clinic. After he kills this dragon, Ronnie will be back on stage, where he belongs, doing what he loves best, performing for his fans.  

Swedish melodic death metal pioneers AT THE GATES are set to release THE FLAMES OF THE END, a brand new 3-disc DVD set, through Earache Records. AT THE GATES released their definitive album, SLAUGHTER OF THE SOUL – often regarded as one of the all-time greatest metal albums – on Earache in 1995, before touring the world and abruptly disbanding. Members of the band went on to play major roles in other notorious metal acts such as THE HAUNTED and CRADLE OF FILTH, before reforming for a one-off tour in 2008 to rapturous response.
