Acclaimed Japanese all-girl heavy metal/teen-pop phenom BABYMETAL has been confirmed as direct tour support for Red Hot Chili Peppers’ first UK tour in five years. BABYMETAL’s sophomore album Metal Resistance(released in April via Sony/RAL) made an impressive debut atop Billboard’s “World Albums” chart and iTunes’ “Top Heavy Metal Albums” chart, while simultaneously entering at #2 on Billboard’s “Hard Rock Albums” chart, #17 on Billboard’s “Top Album Sales” chart and #39 on the overall Billboard 200.

BABYMETAL recently became the first Japanese act to headline London’s Webley Arena, where they achieved the highest-ever merch sales at the massive venue (capacity 12,500 people).

The J-pop teen metal hybrid group, featuring 18-year-old SU-METAL and 16-year-olds YUIMETAL and MOAMETAL, have taken the world by storm since their formation in 2010. Recently completing a sold-out 2016 US Tour, the band has gained attention from the likes of The New York Times, VOGUE, Vanity Fair, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly and Esquire.

Their latest album METAL RESISTANCE peaked at number fifteen on the UK Albums Chart, the highest position reached by a Japanese band. The music video for their single “Karate” has surpassed 19.6 Million views on YouTube.
