Wolfheart are one of the best bands that North America doesn’t know about yet. There’s a chilling atmosphere to the Finnish band’s brand of melodic death metal that the scene doesn’t get to see that often and one that melo death would be much better off with more of rather than it being commercialized. Perhaps dissolving his other projects was the best decision he’s made, as founding member and visionary Tuomas Saukkonen has made Wolfheart into a force of nature, cathartic and emotional, yet brutal and more crushing than a glacier of ice falling on top of you.

Yuma bred metalcore band SAMSARA has officially joined the roster of revered independent label Innerstrength Records, joining other rising acts like 156/Silence, Sunlight’s Bane and Machinist among others.  

GODSMACK, the multi-platinum band who recently had to postpone their fall European tour due to the unexpected death of the son of guitarist Tony Rombola, have announced plans for a 20-date trek in 2019. The tour is set to kick off on February 27 in London with Like A Storm confirmed as direct support.  

The upcoming OZZFEST New Year’s Eve celebration has expanded its headlining bill of some of the greatest names in rock to include a second (outdoor) stage. Concert-goers will now have 10 hours of entertainment before they ring in the New Year. Set for Monday, December 31 at The Forum in Los Angeles, OZZFEST will kick off with live music at 2:30 PM with sets from Zakk Sabbath, Devildriver and Wednesday 13 on the outdoor stage. Early concert-goers will also get to sip cocktails while also enjoying offerings from a variety of food trucks which will be set-up throughout the outdoor performance area, all available for purchase. Food choices include Mess Hall Canteen, Burger Monster, The Viking Truck, The Coconut... 

On March 29th, Whitechapel will release their 7th full-length, The Valley, via Metal Blade Records. Produced once again by Mark Lewis (Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder) and featuring artwork by Branca Studio, The Valley is a reference to the part of Hardin Valley (west of Knoxville, Tennessee) where vocalist Phil Bozeman grew up.
