The end of an era is approaching! After 37 issues on Marvel’s blockbuster Star Wars ongoing series, acclaimed writer Jason Aaron is passing the torch to fellow superstar Kieron Gillen. Today, Marvel is proud to present a brief tribute to Jason Aaron and all of the other talented creators who helped make the Star Wars comics a success, including David Aja, Simone Bianchi, Mark Brooks, John Cassaday, Marco Checchetto, Mike Deodato Jr., Terry Dodson, Stuart Immonen, Salvador Larroca, Mike Mayhew, Jorge Molina and Leinil Francis Yu.  

As just announced at ProgPower USA 2017 this past weekend (September 8th), Redemption is confirmed to headline next year’s edition of the festival, with new vocalist Tom Englund (Evergrey)! This new line-up including Englund, Nick van Dyk (guitars and keyboards), Sean Andrews (bass) and Chris Quirarte (drums) has finished recording Redemption‘s seventh full-length album, Long Night’s Journey into Day – the first to be produced with Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Primal Fear, Amaranthe, Doro, etc.).  

Primitive Man are without a doubt one of the darkest, most punishingly brutal bands working today. Taking a no-filtered, straight to the point approach to noisy doom-inspired metal, Primitive Man are back again with a new offering and a forthcoming release to commemorate it.  

When it comes to metal, who do you go to for straight up blood and guts? Cannibal Corpse, obviously.  

Everyone’s worst fear of a demonic clown comes true this weekend as It and the titular Pennywise are set to take over the box office this weekend.  

I was one of the percentage who was happy for Colin Trevorrow to leave the untitled Episode IX. Since Lucasfilm announced him being tied to the project, I was cautious to say the least. Jurassic World was by no means a bad movie, but it was a Blockbuster in its purest form. While nostalgia played a huge part in bringing that movie to life, at the end of the day it’s just a fine movie. Trevorrow is not a bad director, however, and I’m not here to bash him, but instead help everyone understand he wasn’t the best choice for a trilogy-closing movie of this magnitude. And there’s a lot of other people out there, too, who are very much like that: good directors that aren’t suitable for a mainline Star Wars film....

U.S. death metal band ORIGIN premiere a new music video for the track “Infinitesimal To The Infinite”, taken from their recently released new album “Unparalleled Universe”, available via Agonia Records in Europe / ROW and Nuclear Blast Records in North America.  

“The End of The End” chronicles the final tour from the band that spawned the metal genre–BLACK SABBATH. On February, 4 2017, BLACK SABBATH stormed the stage in e U.K. in their hometown of Birmingham, to play the 81st and final triumphant gig of “The End” tour. This monumental show brought down the curtain on a career that spanned almost half a century.  

PAIN, the Swedish industrial-metal force led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY, LINDEMANN), will make their first ever North American appearance this upcoming September. Comments Tägtgren: “Painheads of America and Canada! We’re happy to finally be doing a North American tour together with Orphaned Land. Be there or be square. NYC noise rock trio UNSANE confirms more than a month of new North American tour dates for the fall months, as well as additional European tour dates, in support of their crushing eighth LP, Sterilize, which is set for release through Southern Lord on September 29th.
