By now, Marvel Studios films are known to generate a success. Even as other superhero movies attempt to find their own footing or fail spectacularly, it’s a sure-fire bet that when “Marvel Studios” is attached to a movie, you’re going to get your money’s worth. Enter Doctor Strange, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s biggest leap forward since Guardians of the Galaxy, and arguably what may be considered their “weirdest.” It’s with the introduction of magic, the multiverse, and so much more than the MCU grows in ways that it has not before, and as such it adds layers to the ever-growing film universe.
For the Halloween episode of ‘Squidbillies’ (entitled “Squash B’Gosh”), Cannibal Corpse recorded a special theme song for the show, which aired on October 30th, 2016. Producer and Hate Eternal vocalist/guitarist Erik Rutan comments about the collaboration: “The producers of ‘Squidbillies’ contacted Cannibal Corpse and asked them to record the theme song for their Halloween episode that just aired. I was fortunate enough to be able to record and mix it for them before I went on tour. Was two days of fun, total blast, enjoy!!! Austin, Texas three piece stoner/punk/dork band American Sharks are back in the studio recording their second full length album entitled Bad News. Bad News follows their critically-acclaimed, self-titled album American Sharks, released in 2013 via The End Records. To introduce Bad News, American Sharks just released the official music video for the album track, “White Witch,” which premiered on Clrvynt.
Hard-hitting Electronic Rock outfit 9ELECTRIC have announced that they will be returning to the road with Drowning Pool as part of the band’s “Not So Silent Night” tour in the US. Also joining them will be fellow Century Media labelmates Gemini Syndrome. 9Electric continue to tour on the strength of their debut album, The Damaged Ones, which came out in July of this year.
Tombstone, Arizona-area desert stoner metal trio FUZZ EVIL has issued a lyric video for “Killing The Sun,” the track hailing from the band’s recently released self-titled debut album. The band plans on issuing a lyric video for each of the six songs on the album, as a fun way for the band to give fans something else to check out, preceding their official/large production video for a track on the album, which is currently in production for early 2017.
THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER will kick off their US co-headlining trek with grind icons Napalm Death tonight in Farmington, New Mexico. Set to run through November 21st, the Abysmal Predator tour features Metal Blade labelmates ABNORMALITY as well as Pig Destroyer, Misery Index, and Power Trip as support on select dates.
NEW YEARS DAY are about to embark on the “Retrograde” tour with Crown The Empire and Blessthefall, which kicks off tomorrow (11/1) in Phoenix, AZ at the Nile Theater. The month long North American trek will see the band supporting their latest release, Malevolence and will be their first tour in the US since May of this year.
