Reactivated Los Angeles, California’s “Spooky Core” band COAL CHAMBER has announced a North American Headline Tour for Spring 2015. The tour is in support of their forthcoming album that will be released on Napalm Records. Support on the tour will come from Filter, Combichrist and American Head Charge. The tour begins March 6th in Tempe, AZ and runs through April 12th in Dallas, TX.
Since returning from a highly successful European tour with BOLT THROWER, German death metal pioneers MORGOTH have been working hard in the studio for their new album release, Ungod. Earlier this week however, the band revealed having parted ways with long-time vocalist Marc Grewe and commented: “The chance for a further cooperation between us simply wasn’t possible anymore”. In the meantime, MORGOTH has already announced that Karsten “Jagger” Jäger from Germany’s long-running metal act DISBELIEF will be handling the vocals on the upcoming album, as well as on all the next scheduled live shows for the band.
Writer Ivan Brandon and artist Nic Klein’s dark new science fiction series DRIFTER sketches the tale of an abandoned, lawless town in a strange and alien landscape. The third issue of this hit new series will have a sinister variant cover by Marko Djurdjević, ready to pass judgment on those who have yet to make the jump into DRIFTER.
Extreme II: Pornograffitti (A Funked Up Fairy Tale) first came out on A&M Records in August 1990, the follow-up to the band’s 1989 debut. The album is considered, according to the newly penned liner notes by Metal Hammer’s Malcolm Dome contained in the accompanying booklet, as the “definitive album” of the band’s career.
San Diego, CA’s Cattle Decapitation have spent the last two years promoting what has become the most well received and critically acclaimed record of their career. “Monolith of Inhumanity” earned rave reviews and debuted at #177 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, which is no small feat for such a heavy act. To follow up the album, Cattle Decapitation will be returning to Dave Otero’s Flatline Audio studio in Colorado.
Of course you don’t need to attach more importance to this piece of news than it necessarily has, but it certainly deserves to be mentioned: for the first time in more than 20 years, one of the most British rock bands in music history has recorded a studio album in their native country. Their latest offering is entitled A Conspiracy Of Stars, was cut by rock legend UFO and breathes that typically British easy-going confidence for which this band has been known for over 45 years.
