GOATWHORE will release their anticipated Vengeful Ascension full-length worldwide on June 23rd via Metal Blade Records. The band’s seventh full-length and second recorded reel-to-reel, Vengeful Ascension was captured at Earth Analog in Tolono, Illinois near Champaign with longtime soundman and comrade Jarrett Pritchard (1349, Gruesome), breaking a four-album tradition of working with Erik Rutan.

Multi-platinum and Grammy nominated hard rock group SALIVA announce headline dates for their summer Only the Sickest Survive tour. The first leg of the tour starts this week on June 7th in Ishpeming MI and hits cities East of the Mississippi. It ends on July 2nd in Jacksonville FL which is home base for members lead singer Bobby Amaru and bassist Brad Stewart – formerly of Shinedown and Fuel. More dates are being added throughout the summer into October with further announcements coming.

  Mortiis will present a live reinterpretation of the 1994 release Ånden Som Gjorde Opprør this fall at the Cold Meat Industry 30th Anniversary celebration in Stockholm. “I don’t just want to do the record as it was back in 1994, but rather excavate it from 1994 and drag it into the new light of the current world, while retaining the atmosphere of the original sound,” said Mortiis.

We keep hearing the whole argument that “rock is dead” because the industry isn’t selling like it used to. I don’t agree with that statement at all, but what’s obvious is that every rock band today that you come across needs to step up the game a little bit more. Instead of trying to duplicate Nickelback’s success or whatever it is Shinedown is doing, bands should at least be focusing on better songwriting to give the genre a bit of a kickstart. Life of Agony, who are no strangers to both the metal and rock scene, pulled through NJ on the release tour for their new album, A Place Where There’s No More Pain, and with this particular show they managed to bring together bands from across the board for one...
