As of now, it has been eight years since Amorphis last toured North America. Since then, the band has came overseas for one-off shows from time to time, like Maryland Deathfest for example, but the always-working Finnish metal band has all but missed out on North American fans.

Out of nowhere a few weeks ago, fans on the east coast started getting notifications via the Bandsintown app, saying Amorphis had announced dates. Currently, three dates are on the band’s roster for events, but they are missing from the actual listing on the Bandsintown app. Then came the news that Amorphis would be supporting Overkill and Exodus on tour dates with “some” headlining dates thrown in there. While those dates with Overkill and Exodus aren’t available, we have, via Enter the Vault, the complete set of tour dates with fellow Finnish melo death/doom outfit Swallow the Sun, who are also going to be on tour this fall with Dark Tranquillity. It turns out, however, that those headlining dates described as “some” are larger in number than initially believed.

Those tour dates, along with ticket links that go on sale next month, are all available right here. Amorphis released Under the Red Cloud last year, continuing the positive reception they’ve been receiving for the past few years. Swallow the Sun released Songs from the North last year, a sprawling triple-album,  to highly positive reception. Expect a formal announcement of tour dates within the oncoming weeks.
