Arrow subreddit“All it takes is a little push,” said The Joker in The Dark Knight. Certainly, it seems, that Arrow fans were finally pushed after the season 4 finale to where the show’s Subreddit  has changed its focus towards Marvel’s Daredevil instead of the CW show.

Arrow has been in a state of disturbance as of late. Seasons one and two of the show are hailed as some of the finest work on the CW by many fans, highlighting the fight scenes, the storylines, and the back-door opportunity for shows like The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. With the conclusion of the second season, a number of the team for the show moved on to work on the spin-off series, The Flash. While The Flash has enjoyed consistent, positive reviews, Arrow has been left with inconsistent reception from both critics and fans, reaching an all-time low with the season finale.

ScreenRant quotes one of the most hostile commenters, using the username “mkd87,” who vents:

“Let’s see here… The finale was filled with plot holes. Like where the fuck do thousands of nukes in mid-flight go? How did Oliver channel his magic from the hope of the citizens? How did Darhk’s powers powered by tens of thousands of souls just go limp dick in 2 seconds, yet he was able to kill Felicity’s ex from far away? And the final fight scene? What the fuck was that? The final fight scene was shit. They’re both highly trained in martial arts and they’re just trading punches in the face back and forth? The fuck? Did the action scene choreographer take time off or what? Worst season finale ever.”

Fans are not the only ones complaining, as many critics have rated the season finale poorly. IGN called the episode “…easily among the weakest in the show’s four-year history” while rating it a 3.8 out of 10. Other news sources were very similar in their critique of the episode. Arrow experienced its lowest viewer count ever at the end of this season with the previous episode “Into the Flood” averaging at only 1.94 million viewers, with the finale creeping up to about 2.19. The last half of this season of Arrow has seen a decline in viewers, as well, many fans claiming to drop the series after Laurel Lance/Black Canary’s death some weeks back.

Currently, the Arr- I mean, Daredevil Subreddit is viewing and discussing the first episode of the series, “Into the Ring.” Every Sunday and Wednesday they’ll start discussing the next chronological episode in the series. Regardless of the fan backlash, the poor reviews and loss in viewers definitely should be sending a message to the writers and producers of Arrow.
