The time has come for Disney to integrate it’s newly obtained Marvel titles into their theme parks. This fall the god of thunder will show his god-like face in California. Disney will not be able to incorporate any of the Marvel world on the east coast due to the fact that Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida already has pre-existing contracts with Marvel for their own Marvel Island. However, the west coast is fair game and so the mouse take the reins in their newest installment of franchise and merchandising. This announcement and procedure comes in tangent with the release of Thor: The Dark World that is due for release in the fall. This summer, Disneyland opened the Iron Man Tech Presented by Stark Industries display, featuring several of the Iron Man suits seen in the films. It was also recently revealed that one of the Disney cruise ships will soon open an Avengers Academy area, where you can meet Captain America. However, Thor will be the first time a costumed Marvel character has been part of Disneyland. As for characters from Disney’s other huge purchase in recent years, Disneyland already had Star Wars characters appearing even before Disney bought Lucasfilm, thanks to the Star Tour ride and Jedi Academy experience. Fans are not sure if there will be an entire sector of the park dedicated to Marvel Heroes in the states, although progress has been made in addition to Disneyland Hong Kong for said superheroes. The Disney Parks Blog notes more details about how you’ll be able to visit with Thor at Disneyland will be revealed next month
