On the eve of Sixx:A.M.’s album release of THIS IS GONNA HURT (On sale today via Eleven Seven Music), bassist Nikki Sixx was busy signing thousands of his New York Times bestselling companion book which debuted at #4, “This is Gonna Hurt: Photography and Life Through the Distorted Lens of Nikki Sixx” (HarperCollins/William Morrow) at Bookends in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

“After hosting more than 800 authors over the past 10-years here at Bookends including Hillary Clinton and Lance Armstrong (and numerous other high profile people), we were astounded that Nikki Sixx delivered one of our biggest and most successful signings ever,” said Pat Boyer, co-owner of Bookends.

“What made it even more special was the dedication of Nikki’s fans, who started lining up at eight in the morning and kept him here till midnight. People traveled from as far away as Europe and Canada, New England and the Midwest. I’ve never seen an author so committed to making a personal connection with each of the more than 2,000 fans that showed up.”

Currently in the midst of a national CD and book-signing tour on behalf of, “This is Gonna Hurt” (dates follow below), Sixx continues to attract record-breaking crowds, selling out books and CDs and averaging three to four hours of autographing books and CDs at each event.

Sixx:A.M. is the rock band formed in 2007 by Nikki Sixx, Dj Ashba and James Michael. Their debut album, The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack, sold over 300,000 copies, and the single, “Life Is Beautiful,” became radio’s most-played rock song of 2008. The band’s second album, released today, has already produced a Top 5 radio smash with the first single “Lies of the Beautiful People.”

In closing, Sixx said, “It’s been a game changer to see kids at the signings crying and their parents saying thank you. They’ve told me the book has had a positive influence on their lives. It inspires me every day to get up and do better.”

The unabridged downloadable audio book of “This Is Gonna Hurt: Photography And Life Through The Distorted Lens Of Nikki Sixx” read by the author will also be released today. It is available at audible.com, iTunes and wherever digital audio books are sold.
