The Amazing Captain Nemo When I was first sent this movie, and I saw the age of it – 1970’s – I was not really looking forward to watching this movie.   It actually took me about a week to finally put it into my laptop to watch it,  I knew that if I  put a movie that old into my DVD player my wife would probably give me the “I  don’t think so” look.  

Cannibal Corpse’s Evisceration Plague tour stormed through Long Island by the way of the Crazy Donkey on Sunday, April 25th and left a wake of destruction in its path.  

JANE WIEDLIN (The Go-Go’s) and BILL MORRISON (Bongo Comics) blast off this July with the out-of-this-world space adventure LADY ROBOTIKA from Shadowline and Image Comics. Scribes Wiedlin and Morrison get an assist by TONE RODRIGUEZ (Shadowhawk), who works with Morrison on the art.    

At last weekend’s C2E2 convention, Dark Horse Comics announced that it would continue telling the epic tale of Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Cimmerian with the return of legendary writer Roy Thomas. Thomas introduced the comic-reading public to Conan in 1970, when he began the highly successful Conan the Barbarian for Marvel Comics, a title he wrote for ten years.

Vincent Crowley, frontman for Ibex Moon Record’s ACHERON, has issued the following statement regarding the band’s future: “After 22 years of existence, Black/..Death/Thrash Metal band ACHERON are calling it quits! The band has released 5 original full length cds, 3 mini-cds, 1 cover-tribute cd and a number of other underground releases. ACHERON will end on a familiar note by doing one last run of “RITES OF THE BLACK MASS” shows until January 1st, 2011.

Megadeth and Slayer, who last toured the U.S. together 19 years ago on the “Clash of the Titans” extravaganza, have confirmed that they will each perform, start to finish, their 1990 releases – Slayer’s world-wide, million-selling Seasons In The Abyss and Megadeth’s Platinum Rust In Peace – on the upcoming Canadian and American Carnage Tours.  The six-date Canadian Carnage kicks off July 23 in Quebec City, while the 19-city American Carnage dates begin August 11 in Glens Falls, NY (complete itinerary is below).  With Slayer and Megadeth co-headlining, Testament will be Special Guest on all dates.

Forget about trying to reach the members of fast-rising metallists 2Cents at their homes, as it appears as though the group is constantly on the road. Comprised of the brother tandem Adam (lead vocals, drums) and Dave O’Rourke (guitar, vocals), and Adair Cobley (guitar) and Jason Wendell (bass), 2Cents has completed two legs of touring with Five Finger Death Punch and Shadows Fall, and during May and June, will be hitting the road with Korn as part of the Jagermeister Music Tour.  

Stargate’s popular character, Daniel Jackson, will be featured in his own comic book in June, 2010!  Daniel Jackson was first introduced in the 1994 film Stargate, and was originally played by James Spader.
