Metallica has announced that their 3D feature film Metallica Through the Never will open in theaters on September 27th. It will play in approximately 300 IMAX theaters around the world for a week. For those without an IMAX theater in their area, there’s no need to worry as the movie will expand out to additional theaters in full 3D a week later on October 4th.

In 2009 writers David Elliot and Paul Lovett wrote G.I Joe: Rise of the Cobra. This year Paramount, MGM, and Hasbro released G.I Joe: Retaliation. There is now a major copyright case going ensuing due to accusation that the new release had stolen ideas from the previous writers. However, there is much more than plastic figurines on this line of fire, $23 million in damages are being requested.

Fox Newses Jeanine Pirro decided to take up verbal arms in a speech against video game violence. An address at the NRA Annual Meetings—reported on by Raw Story— Pirro said the following: “How dare you compare me to a nutjob on the lunatic fringe in desperate need of medication doing nothing but watching Hollywood’s blood-soaked movies and playing the liberal Hollywood’s violent video games for days at a time…”

Finnish death metal band Kalmah have released a music video of a single coming off of their new upcoming album, Seventh Swamphony. This album is being put out through Metal Interjections. Swaphony cleverly titled due to the described sound of the band which is “swamp metal”.  

Entertainment Weekly has released a first look at “The Winter Soldier” from the up coming Captain America: Winter Soldier”. The Winter Soldier is former Captain America sidekick Bucky Barnes, returning as a mind wiped super mercenary working for hire to the highest bidder. This is the version which first appeared in Captain America Vol. 5 #5. Captain America : The Winter Soldier will be released April 4th 2014.

At Entertainments Weekly’s Capetown film festival on Saturday May 4th, a 30th anniversary screening of Return of the Jedi was shown. Mark Hamill, formerly Luke Skywalker appeared to the crowd as a surprise guest. Not only did Hamill share plenty of nostalgia in making the entire trilogy of Star Wars, but affirmed to fans that he is back and signed on for the next sequence of movies. LucasArts hasn’t immediately said that they are infinitively reprising any roles, however, Hamill made it extremely clear without blatant statement that he will be included. The conformation of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witches involvement in Avengers 2 for starters as well as new concept art for Bucky Barnes in Captain America: Winter Soldier. Marvel is releasing teasers of X-Men #1 featuring shots of all of the heroines. Storm, Rogue, Jubilee, Kitty Pryde, Rachel Grey, Rogue & Psylocke are all featured in the cover of the new book written by Brian Wood writer of the Ultimate X-Men comics and artist Oliver Coipel who is responsible for Avengers VS. X-Men.

Nintendo has announced that they plan to do a whole slough of new 3D games aired to release in October. The rumor comes for CV claiming “discussions with retail chains at executive level.” With many knocking the console because of it’s lack of games released and it’s price it’s about time they made up for it. However in this discussion they “have helped restore retailers’ faith in the console, which has been hit by errors since launch.” There is still a lot of speculation as to if this console came to early trying to get an edge on the new Xbox and Playstation console a year before. In my opinion, trying to get ahead of the game, put them way behind.
