Maryland rockers CLUTCH have finalized their tour plans through March of 2014. The next leg of the “Earth Rocker” World Tour kicks off October 25th in Hampton Beach, NH, immediately followed by a festival appearance in Virginia Beach, VA at “Localpalooza”. Following a short break in November, the band will hit the road for their annual holiday shows and continue on tour through January. The band has confirmed five new dates starting 1/13/14 in Northampton, MA through 1/18/14 in Huntington, WV. Tickets for these shows go on sales this Friday  

Roadrunner Records group Scar The Martyr have premiered a full album stream of their debut self-titled record over at http://relics.scarthemartyr.com/.  The collection, which was recorded at Sound Farm Studios in Des Moines, IA and produced by Rhys Fulber (Fear Factory, Rob Zombie, Mindless Self Indulgence) is set to arrive everywhere on October 1st. Southern California Gorship outfit IMPENDING DOOM have announced an all new LP called “Death Will Reign” due out November 5, 2013 via eOne Music. Recorded, Produced and Mixed by Will Putney at the Machine Shop, this is the band’s most ferocious material to date. “Impending Doom have never sounded uglier and more desperate than on ‘Death Will Reign,’ says Alternative Press.

Atlantic recording group HALESTORM has unveiled the first track “Get Lucky (Originally Performed By Daft Punk)” from their new EP,  “ReAniMate 2.0: The CoVeRs eP” which arrives October 15th.  

Spanish Black Metal newcomers SVIPDAGR have inked a deal with Xtreem Music for the release of their debut album “Black Verses” for its imminent release next month of October. Originally formed in early 2013 by Volundr (guitar/bass) and Funedëim (guitar/vocals), they were later joined by Thanatos (drums) from the band CAULDRON. The three members hails from three different cities of Spain, but this wasn’t an obstacle for them to create their personal vision of Black Metal in its most raw, classic and genuine style.  

Just watched Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the one thing I have to say is…STOP MAKING SUPERHERO BASED SHOWS WITHOUT SUPERHEROES!!! Marvel had it all going good with their current movie franchise. Marvel Studios had a grand plan, that everyone in Hollywood said they were crazy to attempt. Merging and crossing over all their single hero movies into the mega blockbuster release “The Avengers”. Guess what? They succeeded…boy did they succeed! So much so that Fox has hinted that their up coming Fantastic Four film and current X-Men franchise will eventually cross pollinate in a shared Universe. Now granted this is just a view of the first episode of Agents…but if they abandon this most successful endeavor... 

Last week in Boston Metal Machine had the pleasure of attending the Boston Festival of Indie Games at the MIT campus for a day. In our adventures, we stumbled onto some of the most innovative and learning-centered forms of gaming that the industry has seen to date. The talent in the youth of gaming developers is heightening and thriving as the years go by and this showcase only proved to incite massive amounts of excitement for the future of what is to come.
