One-man industrial doom magus, Tristan Shone, more commonly known as AUTHOR & PUNISHER, will bring his tectonic-shifting sound conjurings to the stage next month on a lengthy North American headlining tour. The proceedings will commence on September 17th in Los Angeles and crumble the infrastructures of fourteen venues through October 2nd in Boston. From there, Shone will take a brief respite before pillaging another fourteen venues on a second leg of the tour beginning November 3rd in Brooklyn and running through November 21st in San Diego. Two bands from very different cultural origins, Japan and Germany, yet spiritually akin and connected by many similarities: a cinematic approach to music, based on lengthy, escalating compositions, the fact that both bands have existed for more than 15 years and released multiple albums since their inception; that they have toured many times around the globe, visiting off-the-beaten-track territories like Siberia, New Zealand, South East Asia and South America; and finally their shared passion for double albums, such as THE OCEAN’s “Heliocentric” / “Anthropocentric“, and MONO’s “The Last Dawn” / “Rays Of Darkness“.
In less than two weeks, after a year-and-a-half hiatus, Portland, Maine’s blackened rock’n’roll outfit, ZUD, will return to the stage, headlining day two of the first Shadow Woods Metal Festival on September 26th – the new mid-Atlantic, open-air, camping-based metal fest — in White Hall Maryland, just north of Baltimore.
